I had no idea what to write in my first post for this new blog of mine. I have to confess, it took me a long time to even start this blog.
I returned from Moldova almost three weeks now and have been excited about this new opportunity ever since I found out from my friend Tamara the very next day after a solid night's sleep. I just couldn't get a title, a vision, a future for what I fell in love with while there. I was quite relieved to get a "breakthrough" after just another busy day today. After (what seemed like a classroom full of kids) of checking 6 grade Math and 4th and 3rd grade reading and spelling I pressed on to get something done while the girls played together (not quietly). I was seriously planning on getting to bed earlier but the creative juices just had to flow after midnight. There is just something about total quiet after all are in bed. After an evening full of games with my girls it was not easy to settle down but I did get a title and inspiration for my new blog. I am so thankful!
I knew the Bible was full of verses about oils, fragrances and perfumes. Kings were anointed with fragrant oils. We heard many times and read that Jesus was honored with the anointing of his feet with costly perfume:
John 12:3
Mary then took a pound of very costly perfume of pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
But I found more scriptures than I thought!
I sure loving smelling pleasant. But what I desire the most is the inner fragrance of someone who is radiant from the inside. I hope this blog is not just about the business of selling great fragrances at great prices. If it becomes one then I failed in bringing you my vision. I want to encourage myself and other to be a fragrant aroma in God's sight.
2 Corinthians 2:15
For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing;
"But what I desire the most is the inner fragrance of someone who is radiant from the inside." That's beautiful Nat. When you meet someone who really, really has that quality it's just too cool!
